For anyone who loves the spirit of the Mini — both classic and modern — this camping weekend is an absolute gem. It’s been running for 25 years now, and for good reason: the format works beautifully and never fails to deliver a brilliant experience.
The highlight of the weekend is the drive around the stunning Dales National Park. From rolling hills to picture-perfect villages, there’s no shortage of scenery, and the route always includes some memorable experiences — including splashing through fords! A treasure hunt along the way adds an extra layer of fun, especially for families, making the adventure feel like more than just a drive.
Back at the campsite, everything is geared towards making the stay easy and enjoyable. It’s very family-friendly, with play areas for the kids and a pub on site serving hearty food both in the restaurant and as takeaway — ideal after a long day exploring.
The organisers deserve a special mention too. They’re friendly, approachable, and always helpful, but most importantly they share the same passion for Minis as everyone attending. That enthusiasm really sets the tone and makes the event feel welcoming and inclusive.
What makes this event extra special is the community. Many participants return year after year, building friendships and memories along the way. Next year will be my 21st, and I can honestly say it’s one of the highlights of my calendar.
All in all, this weekend is a perfect mix of driving, exploring, and socialising, with something for every Mini enthusiast. After 25 years, it’s clear this tradition isn’t going anywhere — and long may it continue!
